LESLIE/LESSLIE/MANNING/RICHARDSON/GLOVER/CRADDICK
My great grandparents,

where he lived in 1850-80 Censuses, and I suspect he may have moved to

Glover, was daughter of Rev. John Pierce Richardson, and she remarried

counties, including Sevier County. I'd be very grateful for any
information. Thank you very much. 12203 Antoinette Place Austin TX 78727

COUGHRAN/CAUGHRAN/COTHREN/COHORN
Researching George COUGHRAN/CAUGHRAN who came
to Sevier County sometime after 1834 in the company of Lewis COUGHRAN who
I believe was his youngest son. I believe George may be the patriarch of
all SW Arkansas COUGHRAN/COUGHRAN/COTHRENS, etc. I've been tracking him
from VA and his name is spelled a little differently on every document I
uncover. He was a Revolutionary War veteran who lived in Bedford/Campbell
County, VA between 1781-1787. I suspect he was either born in Charlotte,
Henry or Augusta Counties, VA, but cannot yet prove it. His father may
have been William COUGHRAN who in turn was the son of John or Peter
COUGHRAN, both immigrants from Ulster who resided in PA before moving
south to VA. George left VA around 1790 and headed west through KY and
(possibly) IL before arriving in AR by the time of the 1834 Territorial
Tax Lists. He was in Sevier County in 1851 when he applied for a Rev War
Pension and Bounty Land Warrant. At that time he was about 90 years old.
On the 1850 census his name is spelled Cathern. Anyone have any
information on this elusive old gent? 3189H Lake Powell Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185

STINNETT/HUNTER
I am looking for information on the Stinnett
family of Sevier county. They are descendants of John and Catherine
(Hunter) Stinnett who settled in Sevier county about 1873. In 1850 they
were living in Pike county and in 1870 were living in Sebastian county.
However, after settling in Sevier county the family stayed there and many
of the descendants of John and Catherine are still living in Sevier
county. Any information will be appreciated. If you are a descendant I
have your Hunter ancestry back to Switzerland in the mid 1600's and will
gladly share.
I am compiling the history of the descendants of John and Barbara
(Bowman) Hunter who settled in Washington county Tennessee in 1783. The
Catherine Hunter who married John Stinnett in Claiborne county Tennessee
is their grandaughter.
Any help with this family will be most appreciated. 66 Glencairn Avenue Ottawa, ON Canada K1S 1M6

I am trying to locate Cerro Gordo in Sevier Co., AR.
A cousin passed on to me a note taken from a transcription
of a death notice in a newspaper which says that my great
grandaunt Mrs. John R. SCOTT (Martha Ann Missouri STANFORD)
passed away in Cerro Gordo AR. Unfortunately the note does not
identify the newspaper and does not give any dates. However, from
other sources I have been able to determine that this lady passed
away between 13 Oct 1920 and 15 Jun 1922.
Thus far I have not been able to determine where Cerro Gordo, AR is
or was or indeed if there ever was such a place. (It is possible that
somewhere along the way a mistake was made in identifying locations.) 220 Mountain View Drive Gainesville, GA 30501

larger than the King, AR mill, judging from the picture on the web site.

They lived mainly in Polk Co. Missouri, then came to Arkansas.
According to some records, Dallas died in Arkansas Dec. 3, 1919.
Sarah died Dec. 1880. Both are said to be buried in Arkansas.
I have old family photos of a Joe Shaw and an old letter from William
Shaw. I believe both are children of Dallas and Sarah Shaw,
but I have very little information on this family.
Dallas and Sarah's daughter, Sarah Arkansas Shaw w. Ransom Pinckney Hook
( my g-grandparents) in Fannin Co., TX in 1890.
They later moved to Garvin Co. OK.
I would love to hear from anyone with a connection to, or information
about, this family. 816 Cambridge Dr. Plano, TX 75023
