Dr. Kelly Hoyet Oliver Jr., aged 75, resident of Arkadelphia, died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999 at his home. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 1 in First United Methodist Church at Arkadelphia with Rev. Dr. John P. Miles, Rev. Paul Dubar and Rev. Freeman Henderson officiating under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. He was born June 22, 1923 at Roseboro; was a Professor of Biology at Henderson State University; taught at Arkansas State University, Jonesboro, Wilmot and Crossett; was a World War II veteran; and had served as Chief Biologist for Vitro Services, Elgin Air Force Base, Ft. Walton Beach, Fla. He is survived by his wife, Carley Dickey Oliver; two sons, Mark Lloyd Oliver of Mountain Home and Dr. Rush Hoyet Oliver of Minneapolis, MN; one sister, Billye Oliver Hainen of De Queen; and two grandchildren. The family will be at 204 N. 27th St. after the service.
