Wm H. Ailes of Fort Smith, Arkansas appoints Nicholas Spring as executor to dispose of my effects, to wit: two notes on R.O. Hallowell to be
collected, also the pay due me from the government and after all jusst debts are paid the residue to be disposed of for charitable purposes at
the discression of my executor: Makes his mark (x). Witnesses: Wm. E. Van Meter and L.S. Van Meter. 15 August 1853.
Proven on the 5 September 1853. On 15 August 1853 Wm H. Ailes was of sound mind and over twenty-one when he made his mark on will, as he was to
weak to write his name as usual. Attested to by above witnesses. John Carnall, clerk of probate court at Fort Smith.
