Anoter of Fort Smith's oldest citizens, died on Saturday morning last at the home of her son, Edward, near Lavaca, aged nearly 74 years. "Grandma" Gerard was well known to all old citizens here, but for many years has resided with her son, where she died. Deceased came to Fort Smith about fifty-two years ago, and during a large portion of her life kept a confectionery establishment on Water street. at the Catholic cemetery, Mr. McBride, Mrs Keating and Mrs. Gerard all being buried at the same time, the three hearses being followed from the Catholic church to the cemetery by a long procession of vehicles occupied by the sorrowing relatives and friends of the three departed ones.
