"A flashy woman and hard looking man, who registered as Dr. Williams, put up at the Riverside hotel last Thursday, and next morning had
Mr. Rouse, the proprietor, arrested for "isulting" the woman. A jury trial was speedily had, and when the truth leaked out that the
precious pair were simply trying the game of blackmail. The jury so decided and the precious pair quickly decamped to parts unknown.
They ought to have had a coat of tar and feathers."
