Richard Lemuel Thompson was born June 18, 1946 at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. He enlisted in the US Army June 10, 1966 and served until May 22,1968 =============================================== Richard Lemuel Thompson was born June June 18, 1946, to Mrs Elizabeth Thompson in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was educated in Fort Smith, Arkansas, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1964. He later attended WestArk Community College and graduated in 1966 with a degree in Industrial Technology. He was a member of the King Solomon Baptist Church. He sang in the choir. He joined the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was stationed in Germany and was responsible for the repair of tanks. In 1968, he was honorably discharged from active duty and remained in the Army Reserve until 1972. He came to Toledo, Ohio, where he was employed with the Hydra-Matic Division of General Motors as a semi-skilled laborer for over sixteen years. Richard passed away on December 18, 1984 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
