Pfc John Victor Gilker

Pfc John Victor Gilker was born Sept 16, 1950 to James A. and Phyllis Tuth Prebost Gilker, and died June 24, 1969 age 18 in Quang Tri Vietnam of Illness/Injuries. He was buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ar. John was one of two Marines from Recruit Platoon 2241, 18 February 1969, to make the ultimate sacrifice in the war in Vietnam. John was a member of Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines.
