Photo Submitted by Jack James Edward Lee Goff was born July 22, 1924 in Perkins, Howard Co., Arkansas to Timothy & Bertha Ellen Smith Goff. January 14, 1946 Edward married Sarah Ellen Barns, both being residents of Midland, Sebastian Co., Ar. Edward registered for the military draft December 11, 1942 in Sebastian Co., Ar. May 19, 1943 he enlisted in the US Army at Little Rock, Sebastian Co., Ar. On his enlistment card he states that he has a grammer School education and his occupation is farm hand. In December 1944 Edward was treated at the hosiptal due to being injured by "Flying bobm fragments in the line of duty." He was treated and returned to duty. Again in May 1945 he was treated at the Aid Station for injury in the line of duty for wounds to his hand inflicted by a hand grenade fragment. He was returned to duty. December 6, 1945 Edward was discharged from the US Army and returned home. The 3rd of March 1984 Edward Lee Goff passed away in Cameron, Le Flore, Ok. He is buried at Hartford Memorial Park Cemetery in Hartford, Sebastian Co, Arkansas.
