Edward O. Wozencraft was born in Michigan May 27, 1923 to James Oliver &
Ada May Kelly Wozencraft. By 1930 the family was in Washington Co., Ark and in 1940
they had made their way to Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar.
Edward enlisted with the US Army Jun 14, 1940 in Fort Smith as a Private First Class.
He served with Co. B 87 Mountain Inf.
In May 1944 Pfc Edward Wozencraft's Hospital Admission Card reads - "the Medical Diagnosis was Orchitis (non-venereal);
Second Diagnosis: Prostatitis, chronic (non-gonococcal)Discharge Type: Duty".
On 19 Apr 1945 Pfc Wozencraft was killed in the line of duty overseas. On the 2 Dec 1948 his body was
re-buried or memorialized with a marker in the National Cemetery in Ft Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar.
