Lee Roy Wooden was born Feburary 5, 1917 in Clarksville, Johnson Co., Arkansas to Henry Mathew & Lula Cornelia Stegall Wooden. July 25, 1936 he married Beatrice Seth Hale in Fort Smith, Ar where they both resided. They divorced May 31, 1939 in Sevier County, Arkansas. His second marriage was to Daisy Jewel Blackwell but I have not been able to find a record of that marriage. She is buried in the National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ar. They had one daughter, Lula Ann. The only birth date I find for Lula is 1940. July 17, 1945 Lee Roy registered for the military draft at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. He enlisted on January 6, 1941 and was assigned to Battery C 936 Field Artillery Battalion. He had previously served in the National Guard. PFC Wooden left the military on July 13, 1945 with the rank of S/Sgt. On November 12, 1972 Lee Roy Wooden passed away at the age of 54 in Los Angeles, California. He is buried in the National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ar.
