John Halton Williams was born August 27, 1915 in Greenwood,Sebastian Co., Ar. to Thomas James & Ethel Mary Johnson Williams. February 1, 1941 John married Gladys Irene Jones in Sebastian County, Ar. John was living in Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar. and Gladys was a resident of Scranton, Logan Co., Ar. John registered for the military draft October 16, 1940 at Greenwood, Ar. His employer at that time was Owen's Grocery. He enlisted in the US Army March 21, 1942 and served until June 18, 1945. He left the service as a S Sgt. No other information is found about his service. John Halton Williams passed away October 28, 2005 at Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar. and burial was in the Fort Smith National Cemetery. He is survived by his wife; two daughters; two sons; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
