Herbert Frank Truschel

Herbert Frank Truschel was born August 13, 1926 in Fort Smith, Sebastian
County, Arkansas to Jacob "Jake" Henry & Emma Pauline Bender Truschel.
February 5, 1949 Herbert married Kathryn Jean Frisby in Crawford Co., Arkansas.
They were both residents of Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar.
Herbert registered for the military draft twice, first being turned away for
being under age. Both registration cards are below. There is some confusion
with them as he doesn't appear to be under age either time.
One Draft Registration card was dated June 30, 1942. The other card was dated Feb 15,1946. One card
has on it...."Hon Disc from U S Navy Feb. 11, 1946". There are several muster
records for Herbert below those and a link to see the history of the ships
and their battles in WWII. I did not find a record about the date he was wounded.
From the muster records of the two ships he served on, the
USS Electra & the
USS James O'Hara he obviously served with the US Navy.
Herbert Frank Truschel passed away January 30, 2011 in Stockton,
San Joaquin, California. No burial site for him has been located. His date of
death is from his Scial Security death record.
