Charles Desmond Thompson was born March 29, 1918 in Fayetteville, Washington County, Arkansas to William Earl & Ocie Gertrude Prince Thompson. His head stone states he married Elaine Oglesby Lyons on April 4, 1953. I have not found a record for that marriage or for a maiden name. Charles enlisted in the US Army August 7, 1942 at Little Rock, Arkansas. He states he is single, completed 4 years of high school and is a farm hand. Another record says his enlistment date was August 21, 1942. He served until January 7, 1946. Nothing more is known about his service. Charles Dssmond Thompson passed away July 28, 1996 at Barling, Sebastian Co., Ar. where he resided. His burial was in the Barling Cemetery.
