Marie Armenta Studdard was born January 25, 1910 in Bonanza, Sebastian Co., Ar. to James Marion & Mary Etta Cunningham Studdard. (the spelling of Marie's middle name is from her birth certificate.) She was married to an unknown Lancaster. No marriage record has been found. Her enlistment papers in the WAC's Dec 11. 1942 has her maiden name of Studdard and she is on the 1950 census living with her mother Mary, a widow, and Marie's son, John R. Lancaster age 5. The 1950 census says she is married. Her occupation in 1950 was PBX operator in the Civil Service. Marie enlisted in the WACs December 11, 1942 in Little Rock, Ar. and served until February 2, 1944. Her enlistment record says she is single, her rank Aviation Cadet. she has completed 3 years of high school and her civil occupation was Telephone operator. Her last rank in the sevice was PFC. Marie passed away December 25, 1976 in El Paso, El Paso, Texas and is buried there in the Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
