Robert Eugene Steele was born September 7, 1924 in Beverly, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Elbert Lee & Mary Kate Smith Steele. October 9, 1942 Robert married 16 year old Dorothy Sutherland at Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar. March 29, 1946 Robert registered for the military draft at the courthouse in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. His address at that time was Oxnard, Ventura, California. He enlisted in the US Air Corps October 23, 1942 in Little Rock, Arkansas. In October 1945 Robert was in the Station Hospital in the "Alaska, Aleutian Islands and/or in U.S. Territories and Possessions or N.Amer, N.Atlantic, N.Pacific." The diagnosis was disease. He returned to duty October 1945. Robert Eugene Steele passed away January 2, 2013 in Roland, Sequoyah Co., Oklahoma. His remains were creamated.
