July 1, 1941 Fred registered for the military draft at Huntington, Sebastian Co., Ar. On May 3, 1944 he enlisted in the US Army at Camp Josepth T. Robinson in Little Rock, Ar.

Fred A. Stanfill, 92, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Thursday May 17, 2012 in a local hospital.

He was born in Burnsville, Arkansas to James and Arizona (Dawson) Stanfill.

He was a retired self-employed truck driver and a World War II Army Veteran and a member of the DAV.

He is survived by his wife of almost 73 years Barbara Stanfill of the home; One daughter Nelda Wray of Fort Smith; one son Alton Stanfill of Mt. Ida, Arkansas; Four Grandchildren and Six Great-Grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Fort Smith.
