Photo shared by Daniel Lee Stafford Warren George Stafford was born November 24, 1921 at Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Gideon Andrew & Pearl Ann Moore Stafford. On April 12, 1946 he married Ruby Lavell Newman, both being residents of Lavaca, Arkansas. February 26, 1942 at Lavaca, Arkansas Warren registered for the military draft. He enlisted July 28, 1941 and was discharged June 21, 1946. The dates from the draft registration and enlistment are correct from the records. Obviously one is wrong but I haven't been able to find the correct dates. June 28, 1946 Warren again registered for the military draft at Fort Smith, Sebastian County Ar. The U.S., Department of Veterans Affairs BIRLS Death File says: "Enlistment Date: 28 Jul 1941, Discharge Date: 21 Jun 1946". Warren George Stafford passed away Deceber 2, 1978 at Inyo County, California. Burial was at the Searles Valley Cemetery in Trona, San Bernardino County, California. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Daily Independent, Ridgecrest, CA 20 Dec 1978 Funeral services were held for Warren (Doc) Stafford, 57, who died in Southern Inyo County Sanitorium following a long illness. The Searles Lake VFW conducted services in the Post Home and the Trona Elks conducted the graveside rites. He had been active in both orders and was a former employee of Kerr-McGee Chemical Corp. He is survived by a son Dan and a daughter Lynn Jordon of Trona, CA and two daughters Warna Crume of Modesto, CA and Wanda Brown of Fresno, CA as well as five grandchildren.
