Norman Jesse Sims was born April 4, 1914 in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Jesse Merritt & Lucile Cunningham Chisholm Sims. Dec 15, 1940 in Fort Smith, Ar. Norman married Helen Louise Russell. Norman had finished 2 years of high school and was a stock clerk. Norman enlisted in the US Army June 3, 1942 at Little Rock Arkansas. Pvt. Sims was attached to the 81st Infantry Division, 322nd Infantry Regiment. On the 27th of Sep, 1944 Pvt. Sims was killed in the line of duty by Artillery Shell and Fragments. Pvt. Norman Jesse Sims was buried Buried in Plot D Row 9 Grave 164, Manila American Cemetery in Manila, Philippines. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
