John Ben Scherrey was born December 21, 1913 in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. to John Herman & Amelia M Welker Scherrey, Sept 12, 1936 John married Mary Margaret Kayser in Crawford Co., Arkansas although both were residents of Fort Smith, Ar. After Mary Margeret's death John B. married Rita Zaragoza. Both wives are listed on his Find A Grave page. 2nd wife Rita was previously married to a Mr. Torras befor marrying John. October 16, 1940 John registered for the military draft at the Jr. High School in Fort Smith, Ar. April 5, 1944 he enlisted in the US Navy. I find no more records about his service other than his discharge date of November 21, 1944 as a Seaman 2c. John Ben Scherrey passed away January 2, 2006 and is buried in the National Cemetery at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar.
