Chester Ben Riggs was born Dec 18, 1906 in Central City, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Thomas Jefferson & Margret Adaline Knox Riggs. Chester married Nadine Roppolo 7 Apr 1934 in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. and on 18 Aug 1941 divorced in the same place. At 33 years of age Chester signed up for the military draft, living in Fort Smithm Sebastian Co., Ar on Oct 16, 1940 at the Belle Grove District, Fort Smith, Ar. Pvt. Riggs served in the 915 FLD ARTY BN - 90 INF DIV. The 90 Inf Div was called "Tough 'Ombres". On the 18th of Nov 1944 Pvt Riggs was killed in action. On the Sep 9, 1948 he was laid to his final rest at the National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co, Ar.
