Sterling Elbert Ramey was born Oct 18, 1922 in Rock Island, Oklahoma to Albert M. & Estella Farrar Ramey. Before 1930 the family had moved to Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. Sterling graduated from Fort Smith High School and was on the track team and the football team. April 5, 1946 he married Wanda Lou Anderson in Fort Smith. June 29, 1942 Sterling registered for the draft at Fort Smith. And on 25 Nov 1942 he enlisted with the Army Air Corps at Camp Chaffee, Fort Smith, Ar. Sterling Eugene Ramey died 6 Jul 1998 in Fort Smith, Arkansas and is buried at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetary.
