Joseph Carl Ramey was born 28 Nov 1920 in Talihina, LeFlore, Okla. to Albert Monroe & Estella Jessie Farrar Ramey. Both parents were born in Hackett, Sebastian Co., Ar. By 1930 the family was living in Fort Smith, Sebastoam Co., Arkansas. On 20 Oct 1945 in he state of Maine Carl married Therese Angelena Bouthot of Biddeford, Maine. Both were residents there at that time. Joseph Carl Ramey signed up for the draft Feb. 16, 1942 in Houston, Harris Co. Texas. On May 5, 1942 he enlisted in the US Navy. He served on the USS Rotary YO-148 until his discharge 17 Dec 1945. He had served as an Electrician's Mate Second Class (EM2c). Sometime before 1966 Carl and Therese made their home in Fayetteville, Washington Co., Ar. and lived there until their deaths. EM2c Joseph Carl Ramey died on 24 Mar 1986 in Fayetteville, Ar. and is buried at Saint Joseph's Catholic Cemetery there.
