Robert Eugene Norvell was born Apr 19, 1928 in Boonville, Logan Co., Ar. to William Walker & Omah Mae Purcell Norvell. He married Edna Marie Brown 27 Jan 1950 in Sallisaw, Sequoyah County, Okla. Robert registered for the draft in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar on April 19, 1946. He states that he is a high school senior. July 25, 1946 Robert enlisted in the US Army at Camp Joseph T. Robinson in Little Rock, Ar. He served in the military police. He achieved the rank of 1st Sgt. In 1951 Robert and Edna are listed in the Fort Smith, Ar phone directory. In 1956 Bob was attending Ouachita Baptist College in Arkadelphia, Ar. studing religion. He was also participated in track and boxing. In 1961 he attended the Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary to receive his Masters of Divinity degree and on 1 May 1991 he completed his Doctorate of Ministry at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in California. In 1992 Rev Norvil and family were living in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. where they remained until his death on Oct 7. 2003. He was buried in the Graceland Cemetery in Vsn Buren, Crawford Co. Ar.
