William "Billy" Franklin Newman was born April 19, 1916 in Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Arkansas to Jeff Leander and Mattie Boatman Newman. May 22, 1936 Billy, residing in Sebastian Co, Ar. married Nettie Carter of Charleston, Franklin Co., Ar. October 16, 1940 Billy registered for the miitary draft at Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar., his residence at that time. December 28, 1944 Billy enlisted in the US Army at Camp Jsepth T. Robinson at Little Rock, Arkansas. On his enlistment he states he has a grammer school education. Nothing more is know about his service. William Franklin Newman passed away November 24, 1990 and was buried at Mayberry Cemetery, Central City, Sebastion Co, Ar.
