Lorenzo Frederick "Buster" Nelson was born October 4, 1925 in Ft. Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Herman Carl & Clara Hogrefe Nelson. February 7, 1948 Lorenzo married Viola Rogers, both residing at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. at that time. The only draft registration cards found for Lorenzo were from the 2nd Draft, He enlisted at Little Rock, Arkansas in the US Army January 11, 1944. He states he has completed 1 year of high school and is single. He was discharged from the Army on June 17, 1946. He served with Bty B 657th F.A. B. His rank was T5. I have not been able to find where the unit he served with was located during the war. Lorenzo registered in the 2nd draft September 4, 1948 at the Court House in Ft. Smith, Ar. His cards in that draft are below. Lorenzo Frederick Nelson passed away September 14, 1970 at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. His burial being at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hackett, Sebastian Co. Ar.
