Arthur Ray Lovett was born 7 Feb 1922 at LeFlore Co., Ok. to Robert McKinley & Clara Victoria Elkins Lovett. After the war, on 9 Sep 1949, Arthur married Rosemary Elizabeth Henderson at Sebastian County, Ar. His residence was Arkoma, LeFlore Co., Ok and her's was Paris, Logan, Ar. Before 1951 they were living in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ark. In 1940 Arthur and family were living in Cole, Sebastian Co., Ar. Arthur registered or the draft on June 30, 1942 in Sebastian Co., Ar. and on the 16th of Sep 1942 he enlisted in the US Navy. Nothing else is known about his service except a record of his being aboard the USS Card CV-11 on August 31, 1944. His rank at that time was S1c, V6. The V6 meant that he had volunteered and he had to be discharged no longer than six months after the war was over. A S1c was of course a Seamen Frst Class. Arthur and wife Rosemary can be found listed in the 1951 Fort Smith phone directory. Arthur passed away on the 2nd of Nov, 1989.
