John B. Loss was born October 6, 1923 in Hartford, Sebastian Co., Ar. to George & Johanna Tissot Loss. July 28, 1967 John married Freda B. Lux from Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar.

His obiturary below is the only mention of his WWII service that has been found. "John was a World War II veteran, where he served as a tail gunner in the 15th Air Force, and flew missions over Germany."

John B. Loss passed away February 7, 2014 in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. and was buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ar.

John Loss, 90, passed away Feb. 7, 2014, in Fort Smith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Freda Lux Loss; his parents, George and Joanna Loss; and two sisters, Margaret Cummings and Elizabeth Hanson.

John was a World War II veteran, where he served as a tail gunner in the 15th Air Force, and flew missions over Germany. John was a native of Hartford and attended Hartford High School. He graduated from the University of Arkansas with an accounting degree and worked in Tulsa and Fort Smith. As an avid sportsman, John loved to hunt and fish. He was very proud of his hometown, Hartford, and wrote and published several articles in the Hartford Citizen. He also contributed to the Hartford Museum.

John is survived by a sister, Mary Ann Robinson of San Diego; a brother, George Loss and his wife Kay of Little Rock; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass will be 1 p.m. Monday at Saint Boniface Catholic Church.
