Photo shared by Martha Lairamore Wilson Robert Arthur Lairamore was born September 29, 1917 in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Hestral Harvey & Cornelia Lenora Aston Lairamore. March 8, 1942 Robert married Lillian Marie Schenk at Crawford Co., Ar. although both were residents of Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. October 16, 1940 Robert registered for the military draft at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. January 6, 1941 he enlisted in the US Army, Field Artillery. He had served in the National Guard previous to this. On his enlistment he states he had completed 4 years of high school and his civil occupation was "Decorators and window dressers". April 1, 1943 he again enlisted in the US Army and served till February 13, 1945. Nothing more is found about his service. Robert Arthur Lairamore passed away June 25, 1980 in Springdale, Washington Co., Ar. Burial was in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar.
