John Clayton Joyner was born in Clay County, Arkansas August 13, 1918 to John C. & Una Gerturde Dunn Clayton. June 3, 1948 in Sebastian Co., Arkansas. John married Ellen LaRue Bailey. October 16, 1940 John registered for the military draft at Piggott, Clay Co., Ar. He enlisted in the US Army June 1, 1941 and served until September 1, 1945. His rank was Tech Sgt. Nothing more is known about his time in the service. John Clayton Joyner passed away June 5, 2006 at Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar. His burial was at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery in Greenwood, Arkansas.
