William "Bill" Hester Henderson was born Sept 21, 1925 in Midland, Sebastian Co., Ar. to William Harvey and Elsie Bartlett Henderson. Bill married Coleen Shrum from Hartford. A marriage date has not been found. From Roger Dake This is my uncle Bill Henderson who grew up on a farm in Montreal just north of Midland. His two older brothers Beecher and Arvel also served in the navy in WW2. Uncle Bill became a teacher and principal in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and retired in the Houston area. Bill registered for the military draft September 21, 1943 at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. Nothing else is found in his records about his service. Henderson, 91, passed away on October 20, 2016. He was born in Midland, Arkansas on September 21, 1925 to William Harvey and Elsie Henderson. He was married to Colleen for 65 years when she passed in 2012. He had a career in teaching for over 40 years where many subjects. He was also a principal and a superintendent. He was a member of the Baptist church and enjoyed watching Gunsmoke and old westerns. He loved his grape Jell-O, crossword puzzles, and being a jokester. He is preceded in death by his siblings and his loving wife, Collen. He is survived by his son W. Terry Henderson and wife Debbie; daughter Lu Wright and husband Mike; grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
