Herbert Leon Hampton was born Nov 28, 1923 at Jenson, Sebastian Co., Ar. to John H, & Rhoda A Roan Hampton. On the 21 of Nov 1942 in Hackett, Herbert married Faye Lavelle Gale of Calvin, Oklahoma. He was employed by Excelsior Thin Vein Coal Co, Hackett, Ar. On Herbert Leon Hamilton' draft registration he lists his place of residence as Hackett, Sebastian Co., Ar. PFC Hamilton died in Normandy, France on 23 July 1944 from hostile fire. Interment in the National Cemetery at Fort Smith, Ar wasn't until April 26, 1948.
