Daughtry Douglas Lee Hall was born July 16, 1921 at Mansfield, Sebastian Co., Ar. to
Leomar "Omar" & Eureka Patterson Hall.
Daughtry Hall first flew for the British Royal Air Force in 1941-1942.

Capt. Douglas Hall, of Mansfield(Sebastian County), Arkansas, died Monday, November 24, 2008 in Van Buren(Crawford County), Arkansas at the age of 87 years.
Doug grew up and graduated from Mansfield High School. He was a retired teacher; a P.O.W. of World War II; a pilot; and a good man and friend. Doug was a decorated War War II veteran too. Doug flew 30 missions in the "Spitfire" fighter plane for the British Royal Air Force from 1941 to 1942. Then in 1943, he joined the United States 8th Air Force and flew another 77 missions in the P-47 plane. He was captured by the Germans forces and was a prisoner of war for 11 months. He earned four Air Medals; two Presidential Citation; a Purple Heart; a POW Medal; and the Distinguished Flying Cross Medal.
Doug traveled extensively in his later years such as: Australia, Africa; Ireland, England, New Zealand; and points beyond. He was a lover of history and was always willing to talk about his adventures and "educate" the young people on the political woes facing our country. He will be greatly missed in the Mansfield Community.
Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister: Lavern Hudson and a brother: Arnold Hall.
He is survived by brother: William "Randy" Hall; his nieces: Marilyn Stroud Joann Beril, and Susan Huey; and his nephews: Carroll Hall, Steven Hudson and Richard Hudson; and many good friends in Mansfield and all over the world.
Graveside service was held on Friday, November 28, 2008, at 10:00a.m. at the Fort Smith National Cemetery with full military honors.
Pallbearers were the Air Force Honor Guard. Doug received a "fly-by" from the 188th Air National Guard's A-10s, in tribute to a former war veteran
