Eugene "Gene" Tanner Gilliam was born January 18. 1917 in south Sebastian Co., Ar. to Loyd Osburn & Cordelia Bodessia Gilliam. June 25, 1945 Gene, at that time a resident of Huntington, Sebastian Co., Ar, married Irene Kurtz of Greenwood, Sebastian, Arkansas. October 16, 1940 Gene registered for the miitary draft at Prarie Twsp., Sebastian Co. Ar. February 14, 1941 he enlisted in the US Army, serving until Sept. 25, 1945. On the enlistment papers he states he has completed 2 years of high school. He is listed in the Fort Smith, Ar City Directories in the 1950s. Eugene Tanner Gilliam passed away November 28, 2006 in Sebastian Co., Ar. and was buried in Gilliam Cemetery in Van Buren, Arkansas. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Eugene Tanner Gilliam was 89 years old when he passed away.
