William Tobias Frye, Jr. was born March 3, 1922 in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. to William Tobias 'Willie' Sr & Fannie Mae Lyons Fry. He married Viola Pearle Winters. Willie enlisted in the US Army at Little Rock, Ar. November 13, 1942. He states he had completd 1 year of high school and his civil occupation was "Unskilled transportation occupations". He served until January 14, 1946, His rank was Pfc, Nothing more is found about his time in the service. William Tobias Frye, Jr. passed away March 31, 1999 at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. He was the owner and operator of Bill Fry's TV Antenna Service, a Methodist and an Air Force veteran of World War II, having served in China, Burma and India. He is survived by his wife, Viola; one daughter, Barbara Schrock of Benton; two sons, Richard Fry Sr. and Billy Fry, both of Pocola; three sisters, Reba Prescott of Fort Smith, Ruth Brown of Carrollton, Texas, and Juanita Johns of Pensacola, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
