Burley James Freeman was born in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. on Aug 21, 1916 to Bishop Bascom & Nancy McAtee Freeman. Aug 1, 1941 Burley married Bernice Grayston in Fort Smith. Oct 16, 1940 Burley registered for the military draft at Belle Point School in Fort Smith. August 7, 1942 in Little Rock, Ar. Burley enlisted with the US Army. On his emlistment he says his occupation is Nursery operator and flower grower. No other information is available about his time in the Army. He was discharged the 23rd of October, 1945. After the war Burley retutned to Fort Smith. On March 21, 1990 Burley James Freeman passed away at Fort Smith and was buried in Rose Lawn Park or Holy Cross Cemetery there.
