LeRoy Benjamin Fahrner was born May 17, 1917 in Collinsville, Tulsa County,
Oklahoma to Godfrey John & Allie Belle Williams Fahrner.
Leroy graduated from Fort Smith High School.
LeRoy enlisted with the US Army Air Corps at Houston Texas
on the 20th of Oct 1941. His residence at that time was Harris County, Texas.
He had completed 4 years of high school in Fort Smith, Ar. His occupation was
Salesperson and he was single.
TSGT LeRoy Benjamin Fahrner was killed in a plane crash over Woodward, Okla. while
training for the 640 Bomb Sq, 409 Bomb Gp. His Hospital Admission Card states:
"Injured in line of duty; Diagnosis: Decapitation; Causative Agent: Aircraft,
heavier than air."
TSgtLeRoy Fahrner was killed on 29 Oct 1943 and was the middle of three
sons in the family. He was buried in the Fort Smith National Cemetery at Fort Smith, Ar.
LeRoy had two brothers who served and survived....Warren D. & William H.
