Ervin Wiley Echols, Jr. was born December 18, 1918 in Prices Chapel, Sequoyah Co, Oklahoma to Wiley Ervin, Sr, & Alta Elizabeth Cone Echols. December 24, 1939 Ervin married Wilma Jewel Gray, both from Fort Smith, Ar. They were divorced in 1947. His 2nd wife was Lillie Mae Reynolds Fields. Their marriage was on September 4, 1953 in Fort Smith also. They divorced October 16, 1954. The 3rd marriage on May 9, 1955 was to Doris Virginia Morgan Vandergriff in Fort Smith, Ar. Their divorce was on December 8, 1955 in Sebastian Co., Ar. Although she is mentioned as being his current wife in his obit in 1981 and she is buried in the Ft Smith National Cemetery as "his wife". October 16, 1940 Ervin registered for the military draft at the Senior High School in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co. Ar. February 26, 1944 he enlisted in the Marines. He served until January 14, 1946. He was listed as Wounded in Action but no other information was found. Ervin Wiley Echols passed away September 30, 1981 and is buried in the Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. St. Louis-San Francisco Railway Empl Card
