John Franklin Durham was born June 20, 1920 in Big Creek Township Sebastian Co., Ar. to John Seaborn & Mable Clara Carson Durham. November 30, 1943 John married Ruby Rae Lovell, both being residents of Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar. On May 27, 1950 they were divorced. John married his second wife Dorothy M. Chronister who was from Pennsylvania. John enlisted in the US Army February 14, 1941 and served until .October 31, 1963. Durham, 83, of Larkin Lane, Mt. Holly Springs, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, in Manor Care, Carlisle. Born June 29, 1920, in Arkansas, he was a son of the late John and Mabel (Carson) Durham. He retired from the Army in 1963 and from Hill Air Force Base, Utah, in 1980. Mr. Durham is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. (Chronister) Durham; a daughter, Diane Durham of Lavaca, Ark.; two brothers, Marvin Durham and Ronald Durham, both for Fort Smith, Ark.; two sisters, Alma Graham of Mid West City, Okla., and Naomi Graham of Fort Smith, Ark.; and a grandson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Jeffcoat. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Hollinger Funeral Home and Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, with the Rev. Bradley C. Knepp officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, West Pennsboro Township.
