Henry Lewis Durham was born April 8, 1916 at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. to James Franklin & Montie Alice Lewis Durham. September 28, 1934 Henry married Reba McKenie, both residents of Fort Smith but married in Crawford Co. Ar. Reba passed away in 1938. Henry then married Inice Mae Bullad on January 25, 1939 in Sebastian Co., Ar. Henry registered for the military draft October 16, 1940 while living at Kansas City, Mo. March 9, 1943 he enlisted in the US Army with the rank of Pvt. and served until May 21, 1943. I have found nothing to explain the short time in the service. Henry Lewis Durden passed away January 21, 2000 at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. and was buried in the National Cemetery at Fort Smith, Ar.
