Earl J Dooly, "Peanut" was born Feb 18, 1920 in Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar. 16, 1940 Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar to Earl & Lena Herndon Dooly. Nov 16, 1940 Earl married Lucy Steele, also living in Lavaca. The marriage was in Franklin Co., Ar. A second marriage was to Collene Virginia Hancock. No date is known for that marriage. On Sept 8, 1942 Earl enlisted in the US Army in Little Rock, Ar. as a Private. He states on his enlistment papers he has a grammar School education and worked in farming. He was assigned to the Signal Corps. In March 1944 a Hospital Admittance Card states that he was treated for an illness and was discharged back to duty the same month. In August 1944 he once again had a Hospital Admiuttance Card statng he was treated for Nasopharyngitis, acute. (A cold) He was discharged back to duty. Earl J. Dooly passed away on June 22,, 1981 and is buried in the Lavaca City Cemetery,, Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar.
