Photo shared by Vicki Graves Jones Paul Jasper Condry was born May 3, 1921 in Mansfield, Scott Co., Ar. to Chevis C. & Nellie May Reeves Condry. In 1940 the Condry family were living in Mansfield, Ar. On Oct 13, 1950 Paul married Martha Justine "Tina" Hinton in Indiana.`In 1992 Paul and family were living in Hackett, Sebastian Co., Ar. Paul registered for the draft in Fort Smith and enlisted in the US Navy. On Dec. 31, 1942 Seaman 1c Paul Condry is listed on the muster sheet of the Titania. It was an Arcturus-class attack cargo ship. During the first two weeks in December, Titania underwent repairs and was combat loaded at Norfolk to prepare for service in the Pacific. On 17 December, she got underway from Hampton Roads in convoy, steamed through the Panama Canal on Christmas Day, and arrived at New Caledonia on 18 January. During January and February, she operated out of Noumea making runs to Espiritu Santo and Guadalcanal with troops and equipment. S1c Paul Condry was promoted to a SF2C (Shipfitter 2nd Class Petty Officer) before his discharge from the US Navy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Paul Jasper Condry, 95, passed away on January 24, 2017 at Century Villa in Greentown, IN. Paul was born on May 3, 1921 in Mansfield, AR to Chevis and Nellie Mae (Reeves) Condry. He was married to Martha Justine (Hinton) Condry. Paul was a veteran of the United States Navy during World War II. Paul was a very devoted union man and was an Iron Worker for Hammond Local No. 395. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hackett, AR and Indiana Harbor Masonic Lodge No. 686 F.&A.M. Paul was also an avid fisherman. Paul was survived by his son, Paul (wife Tonya) Condry of Mishawaka, daughter, Betty (Charles) Sarjeant of Greentown, IN; grandchildren: Michelle Sarjeant, Eric Sarjeant, Victoria Sarjeant, Leah Condry-Osika, Kelly Lindahl, Randall Condry, Christopher Condry, Elizabeth Hooser, and Kimberly Hooser; great grandchildren: Nathan, Calvin James and Daphne Sarjeant, Kevin and A.J. Osika, Dante and Logan Susko, Kaitlyn and Evelyn Condry, David Gibson, Jr., and Julian Bloss. Paul's wife, Martha preceded him in death on March 19, 2011, he is also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Chester, Donald, and Jennings Condry; sisters, Virginia Shinkle-Anderson and Marcell Herman.
