Lester Autry Cole was born 22 Mar 1921 in Hunnington Sebastian Co Arkansas to Joseph C. & Deborah Anne "Annie" Cox Cole. March 21, 1942 Lester married 16 year old Robbie Sue Flanagan. They both were from Lavaca but married in neighborin Franklin Co., Ar Lester registered for the military driaft on Feb. 16, 1942 at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. Lester enlisted in the US Army Sept 29, 1942. He was discharged Dec 7, 1945. Lester Autry Cole passed away on June 26, 1982 at Ft. Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. and was buried in the Lavaca City Cemetery at Lavaca, Ar. from Family Trees on Ancestry: "Mr. Lester Autry Cole married Miss Robbie Sue Flanagan on the 21 day of March 1942 the day before his 21st birthday on the street corner in Lavaca Sebastian County Arkansas . The story as told by Lester many times over the years goes when they asked Robbie is she would take Lester's hand in marriage before she said I do she asked him if he had enough money in his pocket to get a hamburger afterwards according to Lester that day she ate 14 hamburgers. This number varied over the years with each telling of the story, but it was always a favorite of mine to hear about the day my grandparents married." "Lester was born 22 March 1921 in Huntington Ar. He died of innerstreptial fibrose of the lungs due to the many years of burning pine needles and pine cones when he went camping and fishing. Basically the tar from the pine over the years built up in his lungs and suffocated him by causing his lungs to fail. He was 61 when he died 26 of June 1982. The grandkids were very lucky. They only lived a block away from their Grandparents, so they spent a lot of time with them. Their grandpa ate breakfast every Saturday with them,....if he was not gone fishing or hunting. He loved Pancakes."
