Paul Newton Cockreham 1918-2016
Paul Newton Cockreham was born Feb 4, 1918 in Fort Smith, Ar.
to Rassie Lee & Esther McBride Cockreham.
The Cockreham family had been living in Fort Smith for several years
before Paul was born. In 1938 he is listed in the Fort Smith
directory at their address.
By 1940 Paul was in Amarillo, Potter, Texas and then in
Santa Fe, New Mexico where he registered for the draft Oct 16, 1940.
Paul and Edeane K. S. Kim applied for a marriage license
June 15, 1948 in Honolulu Hawaii, where Paul was based with the
Navy, and their son Paul, Jr. was born there April 7, 1949.
Paul served in WWII, Korea and the Vietnam wars.
He retired with a rank of AFCM.
(AFCM is the rate/rank acronym for a Master Chief Aircraft Maintenanceman.)
January 16, 2016 Paul Newton Cockreham passed away. He is buried
in the Tahoma National Cemetery, Tahoma, Washington.
