April 24, 1945 James enlisted in the US Navy. No draft registerion cards have been found for him. He served until March 31, 1946. His rank at discharge was Seaman 1st Class. James Carruth passed away June 3, 1997 at Charleston, Franklin Co., Ar. His burial was in Carruth Cemetery, Lavaca, Sebastian Co. Ar.
