Sherman Andrew Bunch was born in Missouri about April 17, 1917 to Oscar Thurman & Lillie Ethel Maxwell Bunch. By 1928 the family was living in Marion Township, Sebastian Co., Ar. Sherman had a twin brother, Charles Herman Bunch who also served in the war. Sherman joined the United States Navy and achieved the rank of Motor Machinist's Mate Second Class or MOMM 2c. On 17 Feb 1945 Sherman Andrew Bunch lost his life in service to his country and was buried with a monument at Fort William Mckinley, Manila, the Philippines. U.S., Navy Casualties Books
