Lemuel "Lem" Campbell Bryan was born September 8, 1908 in Chattanooga, Hamilton, Tn.
to Lemuel Berry & Merle Dudley Jones Bryan. December 14, 1946 Lem
married Emily Marie Murphy in Valley Forge, Penn.
October 16, 1940 Lem registered for the military draft at the Senior High School at
Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. He enlisted in the US Navy January 5, 1942. The only
Navy muster record found for Lem on the USS Buchanan
was for the month ending March 16, 1943. His is listed as a L-V(S).
L-V(S) -- USNR designation for commissioned legal officers qualified for
specialist duties.

He was discharged July 5, 1946.
Lem was a well known attorney in the state of Arkansas. Many of his cases can be
found in the newspapers of that day.
Lemuel Campbell Bryan passed away
January 2, 2003 in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. He is buried at the National
Cemetary in Fort Smith.
