October 22, 1944 William signed up for the military draft in Oxnard, Ventura County,
California. December 18, 1944 William enlisted in the service at Fort Macarthur San Pedro,
California. He was discharged from the service Nov 19, 1946. Nothing more is known about
his time in the military.
After the war William and his family made their home in California. In 1956 he is found
listed in the phone book of Ventura, Ventura Co. California, along with brother Gerald C.
and their parents.
Brothers William and Gerald are working for B. J. Service.
William Montford Berkshire passed away Feb 14, 1979 at age 52 in Ventura County, California.
He is buried in Conejo Mountain Memorial Park in Camarillo, Ventura County, California.
