October 16, 1940 Rufus regristered for the military draft at Big Creek, Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar.
He enlisted with the US Army on Jun 12, 1945 at Camp Joseph T. Robinson im Little Rock, Ar.
He served until Aug 1, 1946. Nothing more is known about his service.
26 Oct 1980 at aged 64, Wendell Rufus Berkshire passed away, His last residence was Lavaca,
Sebastian Co, Arkansas. Burial was in Liberty Cemetery, Greenwood, Sebastian County, Ar
