Jesse Columbus Been was born August 22, 1920 at Midland, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Edmond Davis & Lucinda Victoria "Lucy" Owens Been. July 4, 1950 Jesse married Stella Lou Bryan, both being residents of Midland, Sebastian Co., Ar, He registered for the military draft February 16, 1942 in Orange County, California although it was stamped March 10, 1942. He was employed at that time with the California Shipbuilding Corp. in Los Angeles, Ca. November 12, 1942 he enlisted at Little Rock, Arkansas in the US Army, his place of residence was Orange County, California. He had completed one year of high school. His occupation was "Semiskilled warehousing, storekeeping, handling, loading, unloading, and related occupations". His rank was Pfc. Nothing more is known about his time in the Army. His discharge date was October 15, 1945. Jesse Columbus Been passed away May 18, 1999 and is buried in the Mount Olive Cemetery in Midland Sebastian Co. Ar.
