Carroll Reuben Barton was born November 29, 1920 in Huntington, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Reuben & Nancy Ethel Presson Barton. April 12, 1985 he married Caroline Revel Lewis in Louisiana. They were divorced July 2, 1990 in Onslow, North Carolina. They had 2 children. His second marriage was to Elaine unknown. Carroll enlisted in the US Army October 20, 1939 and served until September 10, 1945. June 24, 1949 he enlisted in the US Air Force and served until July 20, 1954. He retired from the Air Force with the rank of Smsgt (Senior Master Sergeant). During the last enlistment in the Air Force he also served in Korea. From Find A Grave: Carroll R. Barton was born on a farm in Huntington, Arkansas, on November 20, 1920, the middle of fourteen children. On October 20. 1939 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Corps. As a member of the old 20th Pursuit Group, he crewed one of the very first P-40's at Hamilton Field, September 1940. In China from 1942 to 1944 he was in the maintenance field but changed to air operations in 1948, Over a period of 23 years Carroll had many experiences and made many acquaintances but none such as those in China, In May 1963 Carroll retired from the U.S. Air Force as Senior Master Sergeant, and now plans to retire from his second career with the U.S. Postal Service in November 1982. He was a charter member, China Air Task Force (CATF) 14th Air Force, 75th Fighter Squadron. He and his wife Elaine reside in Frankfort, KY. They have two children, John and Cheryl and four grandsons, Brent, Bart, Burns and Nicholas.
